Furniture where to buy afforable pieces

Ok guys, girls, here is my dilema. I just moved to Lake Geneva region and I need to buy new furniture. I am that kind of person that doesnt like IKEA, nor does not want to spend a fortune on expensive Pfister furniture.

Is there any middle ground for affordable furniture? If not I am tempted to import from abroad...

It is always cheaper to buy in France. I bought quite a lot in France, Gex, next to Geneva. I also went to Hotel des Ventes or other auctions following companies bankruptcy. Sometimes the furniture there is new but much cheaper than in shops.
